Rato Bangala School celebrated its 20th Anniversary
On February 10 2012, exactly 20 years since the school was established, Rato Bangala School celebrated its 20th Anniversary with exciting festivities. The day started with a speech by the Director of the school, Mrs. Shanta Dixit, followed by the releasing of two white doves for peace, prosperity and success by the school's patron Mr. Kamal Mani Dixit (lovingly known to the students as Dadaji). Next in line was a parade around the neighbourhood, which was attended by students, parents, teachers (old and new) and alumni. The parade was brightened by the red 20th Anniversary t-shirts made for the occasion and was brought to life by the sound of drums and students' cheers. Upon return, the completion of the 20th year was marked by the cutting of a large anniversary cake by Dadaji together with Mrs. Shanta Dixit and Milan Dixit, the principal of the school. The cake was then handed out to all present guests and students and enjoyed by everyone. To wrap up the festivities, there was a grand performance by the band 1974 AD. They started their show with their song 'Banu Satyabadi' which was inspired by Rato Bangala's morning prayer, a poem by the renowned poet Lekhnath Poudel, and ended with 'Yo Man ta Mero Nepali Ho' which got the entire crowd going!
